ApeWraps was tapped by the San Diego Museum of Man to print and install floor graphics for the first Genographic Project exhibit. ApeWraps used Avery Graphics vinyl and overlaminate for this impactful installation. 

The San Diego Museum of Man is the only museum in the city dedicated to anthropology and is the host of the first full scale Genographic Project exhibit in the U.S. by National Geographic.

The Genographic Project seeks to answer: Who are we? Where did we come from? Though we look so different, are we all related? The exhibit aims to unravel the remarkable tale that our genes can tell: where we originated, how we came to populate the Earth and the stories we share that are hidden in our DNA.

Visitors can actually "walk" their ancestors' specific journey out of Africa with a giant version of a migrations map on the floor in the middle of the exhibit. The map was printed and installed on the floor by ApeWraps, based in San Diego, on Avery MPI 1005 Easy Apply RS with DOL 1100 Matte overlaminate, which is UL approved for floor graphic applications and slip resistant for 6 months when properly applied. The floor map is about the size of a two car garage, approximately 14’ high by 21’ wide.

Students (and students at heart) may find the vivid National Geographic photography particularly helpful in understanding how DNA is used to explain our interconnectedness as a species.
