In April 2015, Avery Dennison released the Giovanna Edition of Supreme Wrapping Film™. The three new Supreme Wrapping Film colors were inspired by international designer and luxury wheels manufacturer Diko Sulahian. Sulahian, a self-described car rotator, founded custom tire company Wholesale Tire & Wheels (WTW) 19 years ago. The Giovanna Collection of wheels, named for Sulahian’s daughter, launched in 1998 and is the flagship brand within the WTW portfolio.
Before the films were released to the public, Sulahian and Avery Dennison brought in eight wrap installers from throughout the United States and Japan to install the new films on several high-end vehicles in a first-of-its-kind Wrap Extravaganza. The Wrap Extravaganza was held the first week of March at a WTW facility in California and gave installers and Sulahian the first look at Satin Pearl Nero, Satin Pearl Cielo Blu and Matte Metallic Grigio.
The installers invited to the Wrap Extravaganza and who are part of the Paint is Dead network include:
Marcos Valente – Wrap Specialties @Wrap_specialties
Nick Valente– Wrap Specialties @Wrap_specialties
Matt Wolynski – Phenomenal Vinyl @phenomenalvinyl
Gabe Garcia - Tire and Wheel Master @twmhtx
Austin Smith - Identity Design/ Paint is Dead @201Wrap
Derrick Wheeler – Identity Design/ Paint is Dead photographer @paintisdead_com
Shareef Kahn - SS Customs @Ss_customs
Tatsuya Ishiguro - Wrap-Tech, Japan @wraptechnet
Adam Shipp - Auto Vinyl Solutions @autovinylsolutions
The installers worked together to wrap six of Sulahian’s cars, including a Maserati Ghibli, Mercedes G550, Porsche 918 Spyder, McLaren P1, Porsche GT3, and Lamborghini Huracan. Photos of the cars can be found on Avery Dennison’s Instagram and Facebook page.
All the wraps were designed and installed during the five day trip. Avery Dennison vinyl application tools and Knifeless Tape were used for the installs, to elevate the skill and overall look of the wraps.
“Avery Dennison always has a solid, leading product on the market,” said Smith of Identity Design. “So, when Avery Dennison and Giovanna were able to bring wheels and wraps together, we jumped on the opportunity to participate in the Wrap Extravaganza.”
“The event was a once in a lifetime experience,” added Smith. “It’s always fun to collaborate with the other Paint is Dead installers. It was also a great opportunity for us to get together to refine our skills and promote the entire wrap industry.”
